Illinois Teaching Diversity

Overview

Built for Skokie School District 73.5, where I serve as Vice President of the School Board. The staff is excellent, but its diversity does not reflect the student population. This dashboard compares surrounding districts to see whether the issue is unique to SD 73.5 — it is not.

Goals

Understand the diversity of the teacher population across Illinois.

Approach

Data was provided by the State of Illinois; I used Tableau Public to develop and host the dashboard.

Results

All board members could access the same information and engage in a more productive conversation at the board meeting.
